Terms of Service
Last updated: July 17, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you ("you," "member") and Yewali LLC ("Yewali," "we," "us"), governing your use of the Ye Wali website and app (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. Eligibility & your account
- You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.
- You must provide accurate registration information and keep your password secure.
- You are responsible for all activity under your account.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, misuse the Service, or violate the law.
2. Subscriptions & billing
- Paid plans are billed through Stripe. Price, billing cycle, and cancellation terms are shown at checkout before you pay.
- Canceling stops future renewals. It does not refund the current billing period already paid for, unless required by law or stated otherwise at checkout.
- We may change prices for future billing periods with advance notice. Continuing to use a paid plan after a price change takes effect means you accept the new price.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Post content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, or that infringes someone else's rights.
- Post spam, malware, or content designed to manipulate ratings, rankings, or recommendations.
- Scrape, reverse-engineer, mass-download, or interfere with the normal operation of the Service.
- Impersonate another person, or misrepresent your affiliation with Yewali or with any actor, director, or public figure.
4. User Content License — Reviews, Ratings, Lists & Comments
You keep authorship. Yewali gets a license to use it.
When you post a review, rating, list, comment, or other content on the Service ("User Content"), you remain the author and legal owner of that content. We are not taking ownership away from you. Instead, by posting, you grant Yewali the following license:
In plain terms: you wrote it, you still own it, but you're giving us lasting permission to keep showing it — even after you leave — because that's what makes a review site work over time.
What this license does NOT do
- It does not give Yewali the right to sell your review to a third party as a standalone product outside the Service, without your separate consent.
- It does not transfer copyright ownership away from you.
- It does not override your privacy rights under GDPR or similar law — see the next section.
What happens to your content when you delete your account
| Content | On account deletion |
|---|---|
| Public reviews & ratings | Stay on the Service under the license above. Your account is deleted and disconnected from the review — the byline changes to a frozen display name captured at the time of deletion (e.g. first name and last initial, or your former username), which cannot be used to look up, message, or otherwise reach you. |
| Private / friends-only reviews | Deleted along with your account — these were never made public, so there is no reason to keep them. |
| Lists, list comments, list likes | Lists are removed from public view; comments are cleared; likes are removed. |
You can download a copy of your content at any time before deleting your account (Security & Privacy → Download my data).
5. Our content & third-party data
Movie and TV metadata, images, and cast/crew information are sourced from or attributed to third-party providers, including The Movie Database (TMDB), and are not Yewali's original content. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. Streaming availability is provided for convenience and may not always be current — confirm directly on the streaming service.
6. Disclaimers & limitation of liability
- The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee that recommendations, ratings, streaming availability, or any other information will be accurate, complete, or uninterrupted.
- To the fullest extent permitted by law, Yewali is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
- Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim arose (zero if you were on a free plan).
7. Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Utah, and you consent to that jurisdiction and venue.
8. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll let members know (e.g. in-app notice or email) before the changes take effect. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
9. Contact & related documents
See our Privacy Policy for how we collect, use, and protect your data, including exactly what happens when you delete your account. Questions about these Terms: legal at yewali dot com.
