This Privacy Policy explains how Yewali LLC ("Yewali," "we," "us") collects, uses, and shares personal data when you use the Ye Wali website and app (the "Service").
What we collect

How we use your data
- To provide the Service (recommendations, watchlist, reviews, lists, account access).
- To process payments.
- To send account-related emails (verification, billing, security) — these cannot be turned off while you have an account, since they're necessary for the Service to work.
- To send marketing emails only if you opt in (Security & Privacy → email preferences). You can opt out at any time without affecting your ability to use the Service.
- To keep the Service secure (fraud prevention, abuse detection).
- To improve the Service (aggregated, non-identifying analysis of usage patterns).
Who we share data with
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the following service providers, each of whom processes it on our behalf:

Your rights
- Access your data — see everything we hold on you.
- Export your data — download a portable JSON copy (Security & Privacy → Download my data). Limited to once per day.
- Correct your data — update your profile at any time.
- Delete your account — My Account → type DELETE.
- Opt out of marketing — toggle off in Security & Privacy, or use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.
What happens when you delete your account
Deleting your account is permanent.

| Public reviews | Kept on the Service under our Terms of Service — but your account is disconnected from them. The byline changes to a frozen name (first name and last initial, your former username, or "Former member") that cannot be used to reach you. |

We keep a minimal internal record that a deletion request was made and processed (a one-way hashed identifier, timestamp, and outcome) — this cannot be reversed back into your email or name. Backups of our database may retain deleted data for a short rotation period before they age out; this is a normal technical limitation and does not create a live copy of your account.

Cookies
We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
International transfers
Yewali is based in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the US, your data will be transferred to and processed in the US.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll let members know (e.g. in-app notice or email) before the changes take effect.
